  • Support donor engagement events and volunteer donor touchpoints

Grants & Institutional Funding (~30%)

  • Research foundation, corporate and government funding opportunities

  • Write compelling grant proposals and donor reports, and manage submission processes

  • Maintain a detailed grants calendar and tracking system to ensure timely deliverables

Because we’re a lean team doing big work, this role includes cross-functional responsibilities that support development and organizational growth. Potential activities include:

  • Development operations: Optimize donor database workflows, support gift entry/acknowledgments, track key metrics

  • Campaign support: Assist with special initiatives (e.g., Giving Tuesday, signature events, volunteer fundraising campaigns)

  • Communications support: Draft donor-facing content such as impact emails, stewardship letters and annual reports

  • Volunteer/donor integration: Collaborate with the volunteer team to build meaningful connections between donors and service opportunities

  • Board & committee support: Prepare materials for the Development Committee or board meetings, maintain follow-up actions

  • Signature events: Help plan, scope, manage, and fundraise for 2-3 signature events each year

  • Special projects: Take on ad hoc development tasks as needed — you’ll be a strategic partner and flexible executor
