About

As the Logistics & Warehouse Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the operations and organization of the Hands On Atlanta warehouse. This includes overseeing the back-end logistics of Hands On Atlanta operations, such as ordering and receiving materials and supplies, coordinating deliveries to project sites, and distributing final products to our nonprofit and school partners. Your role is essential in providing our volunteers, corporate partners, and nonprofit and school partners with everything they need for a successful and meaningful experience.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities Include

Managing Our Warehouse & Truck:

  • Proactively maintain a clean and organized warehouse, including tools, project materials, food items, and operations and maintenance supplies.

  • Communicate warehouse needs and updates with Hands On Atlanta staff, the warehouse manager, and other warehouse tenants.

  • Promptly receive and store all deliveries to the warehouse and prepare outgoing deliveries and track supplies & materials.

  • Operate, maintain, wash, fuel and ensure the 18’ delivery truck is up-to-date on service and complies with all DOT regulations.

  • Operate, maintain, and ensure our two electric pallet jacks are up-to-date on service and any repairs necessary.

Project Operations:

  • Collaborate with tool rental partners, project beneficiaries, and suppliers to complete orders, pick-ups and deliveries efficiently.

  • Assist with site visit coordination and conduct meetings with nonprofit and school partners to plan project logistics.

  • Create project work scope documents, including volunteer project tasks, required materials, and tools for project sites.

  • Lead setup and breakdown of service projects according to set diagrams & plans.

  • Provide support to various Hands On Atlanta teams with deliveries and logistical needs as required.

Volunteer Management:

  • Manage volunteers and contractors who support volunteer events, engaging positively and ensuring appropriate task allocation.

  • Communicate tasks, tools, and materials to small groups of volunteers, guiding them to complete tasks safely and to the desired standard.

  • Ensure tools are being used correctly and all safety protocols are adhered to by site coordinators.

  • Knowledgeable in basic carpentry, landscaping, and painting.

  • Certified Forklift Operator (or willing to obtain certification with company support)

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in delivery, event logistics and/or warehouse operations.

  • Ability to manage logistics and balance multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • A valid driver’s license with no serious infractions in the last two years; be prepared to submit a confidential motor vehicle record to HR.

  • Reliable transportation with the ability to navigate around greater Atlanta with ease.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).

  • Punctuality, strong communication skills, and the ability to execute objectives effectively, not just complete tasks.

  • Ability to meet all physical requirements of the job, including lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 75lbs., operating a pallet jack, and moving pallets up to 2,000 lbs.

  • Ability to drive an 18’ box truck and operate a lift gate.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed, including early mornings and occasional weekends.
